Ok so I'm relatively new to online forum rpgs. What I'm hoping to do is run a D&D styled game here in my D&D world; focusing more on roleplaying, investigation, and exploration. With my current work schedule I can't be certain how active I'm going to be to advance the story, so expect the pacing to be on the slower side.
What I'm looking for is a party of 3-5 players to play this game with me. I dont want too many players since this is my first time trying this and keeping track of everyone could get crazy. I've generally seen that people on foum rpgs generally post the characters they want to play and wait for approval from the gm. I'd like to first gather the players that are interested and talk to them about and through character gen. I want to do it this way so everyone understands what kind of game this will be, what their characters should focus on, and what the game will be like. I hope this I'd ok with you guys.
Now for the actual character rules. First off I want to say no homebrew. I have enough new stuff to keep track of here. Characters will be starting off at level 2. It's low enough so challenges don't have to take hours yet high enough where y'all aren't fresh out of training. Finally, given the setting will primarily focus around one city and the surrounding area, I want to limit the races to the less "beastly" options. This will include, but not limited by, no Aarakocra, Bugbear, Dragonborn, Firbolg, Goblin, Hobgoblin, Kenku, Kobold, Lizardfolk, Orc, Triton, or Yuan-ti.
These are all the rules I have so far. I'll probably edit this as questions arise. Please post below if you are interested and we can get this party started!
